799 for hybrid, up to 1099. Not in my budget forna hybrid. I can get an aluminum plate bumper for 1000. We will see how this develops, but was thinking mayben700 including shipping.nmaybe they should sell the designs so i Can get made. :)

But let's see where this goes

Hybrids, depending on design, can take just as much labor to assemble as plates.

    Just sayin'.

And all this price-phobia is why I was talking about getting together a list of people willing to pay at a certain pricepoint.

    Just sayin'.

I got to agree the price is a bit high if its a bare bumper, no shackle mounts either. How much was the price before it was discontinued?

let me elaborate, i wasn't bitchin about the price persay, "just saying" you can get plate bumper that is more complex than a tube bumper for about the same price. Hell if i didn't have a bumper already i would have paid what ever AP was selling the hybrid for if they made it. I started welding in middle school all the way up to my senior year in H.S. and have welded alot of metal to include piping and plate. Maybe i was complaining alittle about the pricing but IMO to me logic seems that bending pipe is easier than working with plate (and make it look good). "just saying"

Then I'm sure most vendors wouldn't mind a bit you building your own bumper.

Part of the price is paying that organization or individual for their expertise and time.

"Market rate" means they don't have to cut their profit margin down just because they can.

Bitch about the price, u have a right to ur opinion, if a hybrid starts at the same price a plate starts at, that's something to b upset about.

$800 for the hybrid means I'm out, and that's that.

You asking if I'm AP's rep has to be one of the funniest things I've ever read on this site. Perhaps take a peekaloo at my signature.

As for you thinking they'd be out of business, well, production economics are a little more complex than your black and white view. I'll just leave it at that.

Entirely false. If a Hybrid costs $850 to make, it's worth that or more in a capitalist system. If people won't pay it, that just means it will be rare.

That's why there's only 3 hybrid bumpers in existence from another vendor on this site that's making them. People keep calling for price quotes and then bitching out when they find out what kind of $$ goes into producing one.

Want nice shit? Get ready to pay, because it's going to cost nice-shit money.

I don't see why they would be. Custom orders from fabricators usually cost materials + $80/hr labor, easily. And that's here in the southeast, where cost of living is low. I know some guys that welded in expensive metro areas (DC, LA) in the past decade and they were clearing $125/hr labor.

1600 for a one off custom bumper really isn't bad at all.
