So the recommendation for a first time retro fit on a first gen is the h1? Btw how much harder is the fxr retrofit?

ok fellas. anyone have the MH1's? I need your help!

i already have 6k h4 hids installed in my factory HL. Wondering if i decide to purchase just the shroud and projector, i just have to get new bulbs? or do i have to purchase bulbs and a harness to keep my ballasts?

also, anyone who has the mini h1's, could you post a picture of the bulbs for it as well. these few things unknown are keeping me for getting the retros.

    thanks!!!!

Those are the Apollo Shrouds... I could have gone with any shroud really, because they totally diappear in all that blackness.

Yes, currently I have them wired to a separate switch, which I mounted in one of the knockouts in the cab. I originally had them spliced into the running lights, but wasn't crazy about them blinking with the tuen signals (but having them flash when I unlocked the car was pretty cool). Then I spliced them into the parking lights, but that required me to have the parking lights on to display the HALOs, so I went ahead and ran a separate switch.

I also did the Fog Light Anytime mod... I love the look of the Fogs and HALOs only.

Is it possible to disable the DTRLs, but keep the turn signals in the large rectancular amber lights?

when you follow this guide, do you need to compensate for a lifted truck, and lower your lights any additional inches?

Hey question as to alignement of mini H1

Is there any alignment that has to be done before sealing the headlight back up?

I was thinking the same thing today and that makes sense to align it lower but Im not sure as to how much (if its based on your lift) and if you lower both of them or just one.

Someone will end up getting blinded either way when you got a lift.:D

i did lower them, i turned them down about 2-1/2 turns on a stock height taco, i'm sure you'll have to lower them more on a lifted truck.

    Hi/Low reverse or other issues:
Here is the combination that worked for me. I did so much pin swapping Im not sure if this is the way it came or not anymore. I also had to run the hi beam solenoid wires to the orange harness plug NOT the blue one like TRS initially recommends.

Thats showing the back of the TRS harness plugging into the brown clip of the toyota harness.

Ya I wish. From beginning to end its been a long time. I dont want to do this more than once so I researched every step and took my time doing every step right. So not really a 1 hour job. Im sure next time I can get it done in a few hours.

for the mini h1 what order do you put the washers and locking nut?

What seems to be right to me is the rubber washer first then put the projector through the bowl then the alignment key, rubber washer, and then lock nut. any help would be great.

Also what are you guys using to secure the centric ring to the projector, as well as the shroud to the centric ring.

    thanks a ton.
