Yeah I was thinking about sending my girl over to her best friend's house for a play date and just trying to get it all done in one day.

I'd sand and prep the night before, then go for it the next day.

It holds up fine on-road. (At least it does in the south where we don't use salt and crap on the roads... I don't know how it would hold up furter north)

The only damage to my plasti-derped wheels (that I've had for almost a year now) is rock rash which would've probably scratched painted rims as well.

No need for sanding with plasti-derp I think. :) Just clean the wheels first, dry and wipe down with gasonline or some other de-greasing liquid and go.

I want to go off-road but can't find a Taco with TRD and or 4x4 in my area that's not sold before I get the chance ro see it.

If I bought a regular SR5 crew cab 2WD would it be possible or realistic to think I could have a rear locker put on it like the TRD off-road comes with? And what would it cost me to get somone else to do it like a shop?

    Thanks.

Yes you could put a locker in a pre runner. think some just came with one.

would cost a lot to have a shop install one if the truck didn't come with in originally. Might as well get an arb..

    Too many to list.
I saw someone else ask that same question in another thread, the response there was that you'd have to replace the rear differential, etc. Pretty expensive project from the way it sounded... I wish I could add it to mine...

you can buy entire elocker axles for around $700. then just need wiring...figure at least $1000.

ARB is another option, but that's also $1000+.

Since you're in TX and dont see winter, just buy an aussie. a lot a lot less expensive and just as good imo.

Still have to finish bolting the rails down, but proof of concept for my tie-down system.

    Great looking single cab!!

Removed the ugly, useless chrome fender flares and rear mud flaps.

Paint isn't discolored, it's just caked on dirt. They've salted the roads, so I'm not going to worry about washing the dirt off until next weekend.
