Just got my new truck December 31 and love it. Been searchin' this site and there's tons of great info., so thanks to you all. I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a lift, so just want to make sure all my bases are covered. Here's what I'm thinking:

OME kit from Toytec- 885x's, OME shocks, top-plate spacers, light racing UCA's, 2" AAL (no rear leaf TSB), and also a carrier bearing drop.

Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75/r16 w/ Method Race wheels.

I drive 40 miles round-trip to work and back 5 days a week (highway). Realistically I will probably go off-roading once a month on average--more or less. I will probably never get too crazy (no jumping or anything like that) but I want to be able to push it a bit when I do go off road. So...

-Am I missing anything? I'm trying to be pre-emptive with the carrier bearing drop. Seen a lot of people put it in to fix the vibes they're experiencing.

-Will this wheel/tire/lift combo work? I understand a bit of trimming will be in order. I want it to sit level, and if anything, be a tad nose high; thus the top-plate spacers.

-Is this the right lift for me? I'm thinking about jumping in on the group buy for the UCA's that ends next Sunday, so that is also playing a factor in my decision.

I've stopped a few guys around town with lifted Tacoma's to ask about lifts and so far they haven't really mentioned the OME; but I see lots of good things about it on here.

Thank you for taking the time to read/reply. Any input is much appreciated.

Sounds like you got a pretty solid setup here op
and you already seem to know that you'll need to trim if you wheel
so have fun with it :worthless: :D

You will be happy with the OME setup. I have the Full OME kit and love it. I originally had the top plates installed and had a pretty level stance with the Dakar leafs in the back (2-3/4"). My guess is you will be level to a touch nose high with the top plates up front and 2" AAL in back.

I took the top plates out after a couple months because my CV angles seemed awful steep. That dropped my front end by about 3/4".

I've been looking at a very similar build. Not a lot of time, tools, or expertise for trimming. Any ideas on a good build that will not require trimming? Smaller tires? Etc.?

Smaller tires than the 285s would be it. I assume you wont be doing the work for the lift? The installer can do. The cutting. Very easy.

Hey Daniel I have that very same set up. OME lift with 885 coils, Dakar springs and the Light Racing UCA's. I did not get the top plate spacer hence the rake but thinking of getting it as I do like that level look.

I think you have a pretty good setup and I dont think you will be disappointed. Good luck.
