Too much torque

Sometimes when I accelerate and not pay attention to how much force I press my gas pedal, I cause my tires to chirp and lose traction for a second. Do you guys ever wish they would make these Tacomas with less torque so it would get better traction from a stop?

 

I know what you mean though, lighter foot or floor it

 

get a 4 cyl.

 

i have done it before as well. but no i don’t wish they had less torque. i tow some so i need it.

 

Dang you must be stomping on it. I only chirp and loose traction if i floor it.

 

also ifyou want to take off fast from a stop go get a car.
edit: and that car needs AWD and traction control.

 

FIRST: Is this a joke? Short of breaking a motor mount, transmission, rear end or other component, is there such a thing as too much torque?

SECOND: No, I've never wished that and don't have that problem.

THIRD: Less torque does not equal better traction.

 

Lol from time to time I wish I could afford the super charger for more torque and horse power. So you can put me in the no column I love spinning them every once in a while.

 

266 ft lbs is not alot of torque for this size of truck.

As I am a man, I yearn only for more torque.

Youre kidding, right? less torque? sounds like you need to be lighter on the skinny pedal... or bigger tires like mentioned above...simple solution

 

i could see you doing that in a 5.7 tundra on accident but not so much the tacomas

 

Pull a couple of plug wires?

 

Mine spins every time i take off unless im granny'n it, wont stop spinning unless i let off lol

 

I had the chirping tires problem until i replaced the Rugged Fails with real tires. Now the torque is actually applied to propel the truck forward.
