OK, well I finally made the decision to not go with the SmittyBilt. It comes down to the fact I do wheel alone or with only one other person a bit in AZ and dont want to be caught without an important bit of recovery kit.

That being said I am definately going with a WARN but now the question is wich one to go with. I know they say that the M8000 is enough for our trucks but I am looking at is it enough for pulling other larger trucks or if mine is really stuck. Plus Warn is close to one of my home locations. I am in Vancouver, Wa and Warn is in Clackamas, Or. Its litterally 30 minutes away. Now I am just waiting to see what price I can get either one for from a few places.

So again, opinions... Do I go with this:
    M8000-s
    http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/src/M8000.shtml

    or a larger winch
    9.5xp-s
    http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/95xp_winch.shtml

    Opinions?

either one, and get a pully block. Using that will double the winches pulling capacity. Its a good idea to use one whenever possibe

Edit: Didn't realize until now looking at your links that the superwinch talon 9.5 is about the same price and the warn 9.5. Maybe even a couple hundred cheaper if i remember right.

I am still waiting on quotes but I can get the 9.5xp-s for about $1400 delivered right now. Seeing if anyone can beat that.

Hey OP, check the prices of these same winches at www.warnfactoryoutlet.com, I just purchased a 9.5cti multi mount for $1189.84 and at the warn.com site its $1799.99. Might want to check out your choices at both sites before you buy.

P.S. Bigger is always better, but buy what you can afford.

Yea, I am waiting to see if one or two more places can beat it. If not I am ordering it.

I've used the piss out of my XRC8; but it hasn't been flawless. I'm on my second motor (they sent a replacement for free), you have to really pull on the line to get it to free spool, and sometimes getting the controller to interface with the control box takes some convincing (WD40, electrical grease, etc.).

I have a Warn sitting in my garage that will replace the XRC8. The XRC 8 will then get mounted to a trailer for pulling vehicles onto the trailer.

Ok, so I pulled the trigger on a Warn 9.5xp. Warnfactoryoutlet.com had the steel cable winch for $1050.00. I would have had to pay shipping and tax to ship to my house in Vancouver, Wa. So I called around and as much as I hate them I went with 4 Wheel Parts.
The reason is they beat that price by $25.00 AND since I can pick it up at the Portland, Or store when I get home in 2 weeks I save on both shipping and tax. So I got the Warn 9.5xp winch O.T.D for $1025 dollars.
    http://www.warn.com/truck/winches/95xp_winch.shtml

Then I went to Viking Offroad and ordered a 100' 3/8" orange synthetic winch line with safety thimble to replace the steel line.
    http://www.vikingoffroad.com/produc...ine-%2d-Orange-w{47}Black-Safety-Thimble.html

I will get a winch fairlead from Warn when I get back as they are just 15 minutes down the road in Clackamas, Or.

Thanks for everyones advice and help.

Ive had a Superwinch EPi 9.0 on my Jeep for about 7 years,
never had trouble, and it gets worked hard when I need it.
Can be found online, delivered, for around 600.00.
This is with 125' of cable, to go synthetic will likely cost a
    couple of hundred more.
