It's the clear bulb in the brown base that twists in to the back of the cluster.

    none yet
I have the bulb from a 4Runner 4x4 selector switch and it had an amber sleeve over it which I removed but it still emits a yellow/amber light.
I would like a whiter light if possible.
    Any ideas?

Middle of the page, search for "79674-S3N-941"

You want the incandescent clear lamp, Type-B
    They're $2 each

The enviro controls are lamps, the rest of the dash is LED.
    Why?
The rest of the dash is on any time the truck is on. The enviro controls (and switches) are only on with the headlights, so they last.

I tried LEDs in my '08, and they were horrible.

    The Clear lamp, Type T4.
It is identical to the factory lamps that I removed.

Um I am new at this but, did the hit the knob worked went out again smack it ok so figured a bad connection to circuit board took it apart and found only 2 bulbs 1 for the fan speed the other 1 did the temp. and the mode (weird) as the temp. light worked but not the mode so have switched bulbs suspect the light transfer thingy will get back

ok , what I was trying to say the same bulb works the temp. light and the mode control light so if the temp. control light works and mode control is not illuminated, the light transfer plastic (similar to optic fiber) must have a break or misaligned where the two separate taking one source of light (one bulb) from the temp. to control mode, so replacing the bulb won't fix the problem. I have switched bulbs but the mode control illumination is still out unless of course you hit it (smack the mode control knob) so bulbs are not the problem, because the temp. control light still works after switching bulbs. So if you replaced the bulb and it's fix good, you got it, if not I will look into it and hopefully have an answer, it could be just my situation, just trying to help

This happens to me all the time easy change just don't over turn the bulb since there isn't too much material on the backside

This is the direct replacement through napa:
    Manufacturer Part Number : 639-007
    napa part # OES 6000107

nitsud.. same shit happened to my 2010 tacoma and i hate having to fix it by prying my ac controls with my knife an inch out on the bottom right, having it come on, and clicking it back in, every single start up. it's getting hella annoying. so those Amazon bulbs still workin good? cuz i'm about to order it within the next couple days. hopefully this thread isn't dead dead! haha
