Thinking of pulling the trigger tomorrow!!!

OK guys been shopping around for awhile now. I have finally decided to trade my 2010 Pyrite Mica Tundra Crewmax in on a Super White TRD Offroad tacoma DBL cab 4x4. Nothing wrong with the Tundra, the crewmax is one helluva monster of a truck, in fact biggest truck I have ever owned. I have owned 3 Tacomas and loved every one, probably the least favorite of mine was the last one I had, the speedway blue, not because of the color, just didn't like the 6 speed manual, especially for towing a trailer. I love the revamped look of the interior dash of the 2012's and the new front end. Will just have to see what transpires at the steelership tomorrow, you never can tell.

 

If you can try selling the truck privately. The stealership is going to try to stick to you even more than usual since people are freaking over the cost of gas. Good luck with whatever you do!

I traded my Tundra DC for my '12 DCTRDOR and couldn't be happier. Having owned a few full sized trucks myself, the Tundra was just an oversized beast.

 

Do it! Pull the trigger! Just make sure you do it outside or somethin', wouldn't wanna make somebody else clean all that shit up...

But i do agree, the Tundra is HUUUGE, and even though the Tacoma is a little wide, you can still enjoy some trails! Plus the '12's are slick. I have a swb in a 6-speed and it is starting to chafe my hide a bit. Did you install a short shifter kit before giving up on the 6-speed, or are your qualms due to just towing with it? Wondering if I should go URD or TRD shifter, or if it even makes a difference.

Just wasn't happy with the 6 speed manual for towing, the last stick shift I had was the old SR5 with 22r motor and couldn't get used to the newer 6 speed. Seemed kinda meek to me, I'm sure the bigger tires and lift didn't help either.

 

I know exactly how you feel. I had a 97 v6 4x4 5-speed and that thing was like solid butter. These newer manual transmissions feel like they've got barb-wire wrapped up inside there and its geared too short. Im still gonna try to upgrade it with the TRD quick shifter to see if it helps smooth out the shift at all..

 

I also think you'll be pleased with that truck. I just bought the Sport model myself (because I couldn't find a ORLB) and I love it.
