So how are the TSB blower motors working out?

Now that the TSB replacements for chirping blower motors have been out for a while, how are they holding up? Still quiet? I gotta get mine done, and am trying to decide of the TSB is worth it, or to take it apart and grease it (as laid out in the "fix" thread).

 

so far mine is quiet.

 

About 4500miles on my 3rd motor. Still quiet.

 

Just got mine done last week. So far so good. "knock on wood"

Time for me to go back for my second replacement... Lasted through the warm months and once again squeeking in the cold

 

Wow .. so some of you are saying even the TSB motors designed to fix the problem are failing???

 

I had mine done about 1500 miles ago with no issues, but after reading up on it I'm positive its a matter of time until it becomes and issue again.

 

Yep... Atleast it will always be covered no matter the miles once they replace it once

 

On my 2nd TSB motor. The replacement is only good for 12 months if you arenot still under warrantee. I asked specifically because I also have the Platinumextended warrantee...

 

They specifically told me that t would be covered for life... My platinum warranty didnt cover the motor surround that cost me 30 bucks last time. I will not be paying for shit this time

 

Mine was replaced with a "NEW" one a couple months back, no noise yet. I am happy so far.

 

So how long does it typically take to do this motor replace? Also do they go in through the dash? I'm asking because I took mine in for the Toyota care oil change and to get the ticking looked at. They did the oil change then pulled the truck back into the service area. It was parked where I could barely see it but every time I looked nobody was in the truck, at least the drivers side anyway. the drivers door was never open. The hood I don't even think was up. So maybe they were in the passenger side? I couldn't see enough to tell. Ironically I finally realized they had a customer viewing area. By the time I saw that and walked out there my truck was being pulled out. It was only in there for like 20 minutes. That's pretty quick if they really did the change. I'm just skeptical, maybe they have a quick fix and not change it to pocket the $ from Toyota? I don't mean to be so skeptical but it was fast and like I said, every time I looked I couldn't see anyone working on my truck.

Also when I got in the truck the drivers seat was moved forward quite a bit. Way too much for me and the guy I saw moving it looked like he was taller than me.

Be aware there were two PN rolls. First TSB motor didn't fix the problem. Second TSB motor hasn't been out long enough to conclusively say it's better.

Second TSB motor is rumored to be a very different design, maybe because Toyota went with another supplier, now that Delphi re-integrated into GM.

 

So far in my shop all the 043 motors have been quiet....................

 

I'm on my second. And it's chirping. Bugs the crap out of me. About to schedule my last factory oil change and I'll get my 3rd (and hopefully final) then. I'm glad to be doing my own oil changes finally. Royal purple here I come!
