Regardless of stock or modded, a dyno should show whether there is a gain achieved or not due to adding the spacer, so being modded is sort of beside the point.

Cam change (which is what I though the was doing) would have a direct affect on the outcome. Same thing with an exhaust, or headers, etc., on a FI engine. the gains wont be the same on a stock engine vs. a modded one.

I thought this would happen. One of my biggest gripes about Toyota is thefew choices there are for tuning. With my mustang I got out the SCT tuner andlocked the tranny in 3rd and locked the converter. Done deal, ready for a dynorun.

Starting at 3400 is more then 1/2 way into the power band. This product issupposed to shine by increasing tq down low-long runner intakes-. The fact thatthere wasn't a large loss of hp and still a gain of tq that high in the rpmband leaves me to believe there should be good gains down low.

A run with a manual tranny will let us know for sure.

Chris I understand what you are saying about how some mods will affect thegains of other mods on a dyno. But the underlying fact is if he makes 3 runsand gained 15lbs of tq from say 1900rpm to say 3400 rpm, the gain can't be completelydismissed. How much will a stock truck gain vs. modded truck will I'm sure varyto a point. This will just open the door if gains are to be had.

Off topic yes, but what has to be done so that I can get my truck running properly. That way I can full length dyno run.

Ahem... well, how much are you looking at for this type of thing, that way members can decide for themselves what price to pay for smaller gains in the 3k+ RPM range and potential torque gains down low?

    .
Well, I really want to see data from the sub 3k range before I pull the trigger, 2 hp and 8 ftlbs above 3500 is definitely a gain, my feeling is that unless you want to drop the $ for a s/c, the reality is that getting the most out of these NA engines requires a bunch of mods, each one adding a little bit to the mix. I'm OK with that, I have already invested $ in mods along this line. I am happy the OP is wanting to put his money where his mouth is and back his claims with hard data. There is so much aftermarket crap out there and this forum does a good job of trying to weed this out and help people not waste money. If you guys can get some hard data in the low range, then you can post that and let the buyers decide if the gains are worth the money.
If it turns out that you get around a 5hp/10lbs lower in the range, I'll buy it tomorrow, to me it's worth it because that's where my set up is most deficient.
Keep pluggin away at it guys, we be hungry for more data.

If the manufacturer sends me one I will take my truck to a local dino shop and have it run before and after (since I have a manual)...

Im thinkin it makes much more difference on the Nissan engine, than the Toyota engine. Even with the dyno starting at 3000 rpm, we're not seeing anything near what was quoted on the first post.

Yeah. I don't think Tacoma spacers make near what the Nissan ones do.

But, it just goes to show you how inefficient their factory design was, from that testing alone.

Someone mentioned there were multiple runs. Would it be possible to post all the test run data?
Less that 1% hp and approx. 3% lb*ft increases don't seem significant. I would be interested in the repeatability of the test machine.

Doing a fit test tomorrow on one truck and found another guy today that said he would let us use his truck too. Getting closer to doing tests maybe this weekend or so.

If its still a 2-3 hp gain, all I can conclude from this, toyota engineers did their work with the intake manifold and Nissan, not so much.
