Relocating the skid to the crossmember is gonna be on my list of things to do.
Can't remember what winch you were looking at getting. Smittybilt? If I bothered looking for another place to locate the solenoid, the most I would've had to remove from the grill is about half of the lower part of the surround.

The treadwrights seem pretty decent, I'd consider getting them if they came in a size I liked. From what I've read, you can request particular sidewalls.

Its well worth it but its going to be a bitch with the crossmember welded to the truck and i was looking at the Superwinch LP10k but the solenoid box is removable it looks like so ill put it under the hood where my ABS would be if i had it :D

Im still undecided on tires really, i still have a ton of freaking tread left on these mastercrafts with over 40k on them so it will be a while and honestly id love to get them again but they're so damn pricey now :(

Looks interesting...ill keep my eyes peeled on that one

Split costs and we'll talk...id love to go and i just mapped it and its 388 miles for me as well
Ill have to see how money is looking and if i can come across a winch by then, and also get a few spare parts...axles and lower ball joints

    :woot:

I fasten mine and all the ones ive built with zipties
Never had any issues with it like that so ill continue to do it that way and I actually worked on the light mounts yesterday in preperation for the bumper install today...Ill get some pics for you tomorrow and post them up for ya.

Basically i just took a piece of 3/16 aluminum angle iron and drilled 2 holes in one side and bolted it to the rad support then drilled a single hole for the light bolt but i also modified the lights from the way they came to mount like they are..ill take some pics tomorrow and hopefully clear it up for you a bit when i pull the grill back off for a little bit of painting...gonna change the look up a bit and see how it turns out

i always over budget (my uwharrie budget was 500$ ended up spending MAYBE 150$...drinks food and gas both ways)

assuming your truck gets 17 mpg like mine which would be 306 miles per tank so lets say 3.37 for gas (what i paid today) times 18 (gals gas tank holds) = 60.66$. lets even this trip out to 400 miles each way so we'll say 3 to 3 and a half tanks (depending on how much wheeling) we're looking at 181.98$ to 212.31 just for gas to get there and wheel and back. we could bring food and save money or we could all hit up a McDonald's or something so 10$ a day on food (each) so 90$ we should pick up a case of cheep water for us too just because dehydrations a bitch (trust me i know) so 4$

i know im leaving stuff out but for now out total is 275.98 - 306.31 ish

Yea, cookie for you and going into full detail  I just assumed 200 for gas and i always carry a case of water in the cooler, then food id probably bring some snack type shit to munch on and hit up some kind of food establishment for something a little better but then you also gotta factor in what it would cost to get into the park as well if there is a fee and maybe some other things i can think of right now too...oh and i get about 17.5 mpg but dont get anywere near 300 miles pt

I think it flows together quite well. What is the thickness of the front skid?
