I have a 05 Prerunner (no TRD) and I was wondering if I could have 4WD installed on my truck. I have heard that I can install a locker but I don't know if it is as good as a 4WD or not? Does anyone have any advice on if I can install locking hubs?

A few people have converted their Prerunner to 4x4. Check out TTORA.com for some info on it. I dont think anyone on here has converted......yet.

You can install a locker. Installing 4x4 in your truch would be a lot of time and money.

from a quick google...Warn does NOT make a manual hub conversion for the 05+ tacoma...

    sooo...pretty much heres your option

cut off the IFS and install a solid front axle and make it 4wd then

It will probably be cheaper to sell your truck and buy a 4WD.
