Gotta love the lifetime warranty CV's.

I run pretty conservative at this point. I've raced sport bikes and mustangs. But now I'm all about the slooooooooooooow.

Oh and staying out of hospitals....I'm tired of injury recovery.

I've been looking into putting lockers on my rig as well. Maybe not a front but for sure in the back. I really don't think I need to spend the $$ on a ARB but from what I hear the lockrights are good. How different will my rig drive if I do this??

We've got a few great places to go around here and think this hobby/money dump will be around for a while :D

2.5 inch lift, Sway bar removed, cut out flares, pinch weld mod, 33x12.5's maxed out. I think I'm stuck at this lift height for the time being.

I'm e locked in the back and there is no substitue. I hear the dual case is even more impressive.

That's a pretty aggressive statement. Please explain.

Oh yea there are tons of other options out there......... it's just a matter of what to do and then there is the whole regear part too. I would love to SAS my truck but I don't get to off road that much so it would be pointless but so sick if I could.

    Detroit Lockers FTW!

i just now saw this topic:confused:

i haven't got myself caught up in this topic yet so i don't know exactly what you plan with the lockrights are and on what vehicle..all i know is, i know several peeps who have had carnage with lockrights..it's the pin that always breaks. the guy i bought my crawler from had lockrights before he installed the detroits. he claimed that on the second time out after he did the front axle swap he broke a lockrite in the rear and upgraded to the detroits that are still in it now. it was on 35's at the time.

now my crawler is on 39.5" krawlers, twin sticked with 4.70 in the rear case, and has a 3.4L swap in it. i have snapped a transfer case output shaft and twisted a rear axle shaft..but no problems with the Detroits

So your suggestion is to spend a lot of cash to replaced a system that is currently fucntional?

There is always going to be a bigger bader setup. This thread was created to expand the knowledge of more sever off road setups. Not to yell and tell people to go f'in search.

Thanks for tip my friend. Very informative.

Then what we have here sir is miscommunication. I was responding to lockers are great. And that I share in that notion as I too have a locker. Not making a statement that e-lockers are the best of the best.

I'll run my e-locker till it snaps and it sounds like switching to an 8.4 would be an option.

Yeah I don't see many people having problems with 1st gen axles, many members run 37s or bigger with no problems. 2nd gen axles isn't a real axle IMO. Shit's weak.

This question probably doesn't apply here but whatever haha

I'm upgrading to 35"s soon. I'm moving to WI for awhile and gonna play the wait and see game if I get stopped for tires that stick out past the fenders. If I do, I was looking at doing bushwackers for the rear which seem to be perfect for 12.50 wide tires.

I'm running 1" spacers up front. Can't decide if I should go with bushwackers up front (probably gonna stick out slightly) or go with some 4.5" Glassworks fenders. I'm kinda leaning towards Glassworks since I want to upgrade to SAS eventually and it would be easier to trim for bigger tires and still give some decent coverage.

    Opinions?

Looks weren't really the concern, more getting a ticket based on what I read from liftlaws.com

I had seen a few rigs with fiberglass fenders that seem to take a beating pretty good (Kaistie's rig on TTORA/Pirate first comes to mind) so I figured it might be an option.

Guess I could always go with bushwackers and pull the fenders a little and just remove them when it comes time to SAS?

Kinda unrelated but I shake my head every time I see this video. :D

I was thinking that was the case, but I hoping between some trimming and 'working' the flares a little, I could pull them a little wider.

Yes, but made with shit material. Also why put the same axle under something that is 2k #s heavier. That's all I was referring to.
