My coworker recommended rock auto to me, said he gets lots of stuff from there and it's way cheaper than the dealer and he has never had a problem.

i've never ordered from there, but my roommate uses them all of the time. i'm going to be collecting a lot of spare parts this summer (spare CVs, rear drive shaft, spindles, steering rack, etc). there's a real nice junk yard around my place in VA, and they have awesome prices. whatever i can't find there, i'll get from rock auto.

I did the same thing w/ DSM. I got front 5100 adj billies from wheelers for 170. I got my rear ext. 5100 from DSM. It was funny when I called DSM I asked them what the difference was between the 5100's and rcd 5100 cause they looked like the same shock to me, but the rcd's were 172 and the others were 199. He said nothing. but he could not sell the non-rcd's to me at the rcd price due to the part number being different. So, for 10 bucs more I went to Wheeler's. The difference is the TW discount...No biggie.

I love it, but after a few thousand rounds it has started to jam occasionally when chambering a round. Its a very strange way to jam and I am uncomfortable using it as bedside gun now. So I am going to try replacing the recoil spring and if that doesn't help I will be picking up a new 9mm.

HU? did you try checking your magazine springs. My sig double feeds every once in a while. First time it happened I had the mag spring in the wrong way du, but we were doing a drill under streess putting the gun together. Another time it was running dry. No problems since then tho. We put alot of rounds through our guns. I took a week long tactical pistol class and we shot 1500 to 2000 rounds a day.

When it jams can you get it back into battery by hitting the rear of the slide with your palm?

It always ran flawless until this started happening. And I thought it could be the mag too but it has now happened in all 3 mags I have, 2 IWI's and a mecgar. I have a few pics going to live now to show you what is happening. Its hard to explain.

I have to pull the slide back a bit and then let it slide into battery.

Its like the round is not being pushed up quick enough causing the slide to catch the bottom of the shell. Which jams the shell under the slide like that, and the nose of the bullet gets jammed on the top of the chamber because its being pushed in at a strange angle.

Ok guys...on my rack and pinion situation. I emailed the company about the leaky rack, and that I want to return it, and they want to know if I flushed the PS system before I installed it....

wtf? Why does that matter? I have a feeling they are going to try to fuck me one way or the other.....I am smelling PAYPAL DISPUTE...

I mean...the system was EMPTY from removing the rack.

Do they mean a power flush? Or that I just drained and refilled the fluid? wtf?

Or your slide not traveling to the rear enough. Its had to say just from the one picture. Have you tried switching ammo?

It has happened with a few different kinds of ammo so I don't think it's that. But it does seem like the slide us ether racking forward too fast or it is not traveling all the way to the rear. Hopefully a new recoil spring will fix it.

How old are the magazines? The spring in the magazine could be too weak. I would probably have the mags rebuilt. Is it a new gun/old gun? How many rounds through it? It looks like the round isn't getting stripped from the magazine like it should. If it going up the feeder ramp correctly. Might need to have the feeder ramp polished. What ammo are you using? FMJ? JHP?

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
Interesting. I've had an occasional FTE with my 941, but have never seen this problem. Any signs of abnormal wear on firing pin assembly or slide? Weak mag springs or bent lips come to mind. Do you store the mags loaded? Have you changed your grip style, possibly "riding" the slide? Tossing some ideas around.

I have one of the original Desert Eagle IMI imports in .40 cal. Somewhere around 5k rounds through it and my only issue was the rear sight started walking a little.

Have you ordered a new spring assy yet? I have been looking to upgrade to this one: http://www.zahal.org/products/recoil-reduction-system-for-all-jericho-941-baby-eagle

Have read that the Wolf springs are a good choice as well.

Subbed to this thread for more info/resolution.

Tell them "yes" that you did in fact flush it. Basically they want to know that when you took the old rack out, you used a pressurized can that can be purchased from the parts store to clean out the lines before you installed the new rack. You can do this with the P/S system, A/C system, and with tranny lines.

There is a chance they might ask for a reciept, but i would think if they do, you can tell them you toyota master tech buddy gave you a can to use. This should fly, i would think. This is norrmal for them to require a flush, all the ones we ever get from aftermaket require it, but i cant tell you the last time i ever did it. Not usually needed.
