I decided to change my serpentine belt last night and found this bracket with a bolt just sitting in it. I bought my truck used and I keep finding wierd things like this! Anyone know what this bracket is for? I sits below the power steering pump.

I wouldn't worry about it, probably a bracket to hold an accessory or an option that your truck didn't come with. The more you look, the more you'll find. You'll come across empty or dead wiring harnesses depending on how dressed up or stripped down the truck is. That could be something to do with the tow package, maybe for the supplimental transmission cooler maybe? :notsure:

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as the Flux Capacitor is there and still Fluxing you will be alright. ;)

Maybe I'll change the "710" fluid next just to be safe.

Well I took it to the dealer to ask what it was and they had a tech look under my hood. He also looked at another Tacoma and we determined the bracket to be aftermarket. It looks like it may have held a pully. Anyone?

I thought of that also. All I've found for compressors is electric though...not that I know anything about them.
