IMO it would be better to have it as close to the center as possible. because you lose alot of weight and balance when you have less fuel. It better to rely on a solid fixed weight in the rear instead of something that changes such as fuel level.

most race trucks compensate for weight difference with valving

I thought you wanted extra weight behind the axle? And possibly right rear to offset the gas tank?

even with valving, understeer can still happen without proper cross weight distribution.

I've plowed into sand banks a couple times turning right but never once turned left.

I may just be running out of talent.

Im following you 100% on this one, I guarantee handling will increase if load is even on all 4 tires. maybe even more positive things would come of it too.

    To much to list!
Keep the nose up stay on the throttle reason you have rev limiter :)

If Paul from zero tolerance fabrication is still around. I think he had scales.

This and proper valving are what's going to keep you from nose diving, not weight balancing

not for a toyota motor ;-)

you don't drive all day on your rev limiter, he means coming up a jump, you want to be pinning it on the lip to pop your front end up.

I have conventional shackles that face down, so when I gas it, my rear comes up, unlike the stock flipped shackles where, when you gas, the rear goes down. But then again, first Gens have the same design.

I definitely gas it leading up to rough sections and jumps, but still doesnt explain unequal over/under steering in turns.

caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
if you floor it the back should squat no matter what your shackle angle is.....

im on the rev limiter 95% of the time off road. thats the only way to go if you actually haul ass with a small engine

nah I just thought weight distribution would be a consideration, but I guess it's only for the race trucks.
