Agreed, the shackle shouldnt change the roll center

with an downward facing shackle, when you gas it, excess torque will be converted to axle wrap, and pulling the bottom of the shackle in a bit, and lifting the rear of the truck up.

With a flipped shackle, the axle wrap pulls the top of the shackle in, dropping the rear down

In ALL scenarios, acceleration shifts the weight towards the rear, usually putting more weight over the rear wheels, thus, rear wheel drive vehicles are able to put more power to the pavement than FWD cars.

im sorry im confused as hell, no matter what you do (from what i have seen) if you floor it, the weight goes torwards the rear of the vehicle (squat)

can you get a video of the rear of your truck lifting when hammering down?

but its still the same concept, put weight in your bed, it lowers. i dont understand that..

Axel wrap dude when you pin it your axle wants to do back flips and all of the force has to go somewhere. So it forces the back half of his leaf pack down and inward and with his shackle set up it brings the rear end up a little. I'm assuming the 50t pack has less flex in it than a deaver pack so more force is applied to the shackle right? Aaron does the rear end ever try to buck because of the downward force?

    P.S. I luv tater tots

    EXACTLY.

If I gun it really hard on dry pavement, I can feel it want to buck.

It also wants to buck under high power situations when I start to get stuck, like on a steep hill climb where I start losing momentum fast.

I cant really feel mine "raise" when I hit the gas, but I can feel it "drop" when I let off. I dont have shocks installed yet though so dont mind me :D

Edit: I havent done any full on gunning it without shocks so curious to find out once I get them on

I'm leaning towards doing an inverted shackle for this reason plus I think it would have less axle wandering (side to side) due to less leverage on the shackle to frame bushing. I'm also gonna run delrin for the same reason.

    Valving valving valving valving valving.

Bucking is a reaction in conjuction with the rebound setting on the shock.

Slow down the rebound so its not BOINGING your leaf pack back towards the ground

Inverted as in the way 2nd gens are, or invert your current ones to hang over the frame?

so with my truck, shackle above the frame, it will squat when on the gas, right?

Slowing rebound down usually means more dampening, if you have less dampening the speed increases. Not sure if out means more or less on bypasses

Understood but I was mainly concerned with the fact that the rear end downward force is different under a load

Same as stock just have to build new ones for LT
