4130 chromoly > gusseted steel plate

There is a rather long piece of steel plate that can bend under extreme stress (i.e. a full retard driving in the dirt aka jberry813).

I'm assuming you have the 64" kit so you'll be running inverted shackles so you won't have the same problem. I think the Giant kit is pleanty capable, its just their 12" regular shackle design blows.

My opinion on Giant's fabrication skills has dwindled the longer I own my truck. The kit is solid, but the work they did on my truck BLOWS. The previous owner of my truck had the rear LT work and it was all done by Giant. They missed the magic 52.5" eye to eye mark by like 6" so the shackles don't articulate as they should and my truck rides like shit. I never hit full bump as the shackles stop moving when they still should be even though the springs are flat. I don't know if Giant was just trying to cut corners with a guy who didn't know his stuff or if they were trying to accomodate something unknown. The fact is the ass of my truck is not performing to it's possible potential.

It's fixable, but I have to rip out my existing bedcage, cut off my spring hangers, design a new cage, and rework my rear bumper. And while i'm at it...put in a fat ass axle. All of which takes time and $$$.

it doesn't even matter what i was pulling before. i had stock leafs. the kit says 20" i should be able to get 20" since I'm having the bed cage designed around the bypasses. so it should work right?
