A/C Evaporator Drain

Anyone know where the A/C evaporator drain is located? Trying to clean out the odor coming from the cabin vents when I run the A/C and want to start by making sure the evaporator drain isn't clogged.

When the A/C evap drain was clogged on my other vehicle (located on the passenger side firewall) the floor of the footwell got drenched.

If your drain isn't clogged, think about mixing a few drops of essential lavender oil in a water bottle mister and spraying the vents (don't know if you can do it from the outside - eg at the base of the windshield - like you could on my Legacy). Not only will the lavender make it smell better, but it is also anti-fungal and anti-bacterial

 

Judging by how snow used to blow in the vents on my old 96, you should be able to spray from the outside in.

Also, lavender is calming, so it cuts down on road rage too.

Haha, I would definitely spray the lavender if I had to commute in heavy traffic. Less likely to flip the bird if someone cuts you off! I just spray Ozium which has a nice smell and also reduces airborne bacteria.

If its a mildew smell I'd say your drain may be plugged, if its misc. odor/odors, your interior coil is probably dirty & the culprit

 

How do you unclog it? I don't own an air compressor.
