It would be pretty cool to get one of those on a truck. But look out for intubations being phased out for EMS providers soon.

Yeah. It is being talked about in my county. The Fire Dept Here Loves the King tube!! The ER MD's hate them because they have to take them out and place a real tube when we get to the ER.

Were I trained used a combitube, other local counties use the king tube. I hear the king tube is so much better then the combi.

And here where I am at, even if we intubate the pt. the ER doc always takes our tube out and places their own tube, unless they are lazy or DGAF. Almost always the justification is a field tube is "dirty."

Which they are right in some respects, but if tube is properly placed, and their airway is secured, why fuck with it??

Haahaahaahaa "dirty tube". So true. So a "clean" tube is going to fix the infection or whatever the dirty tube put there already.

    Lmao

    Fuck it. Leave it in

exactly... Its all about their ego....but whatever  I'll just OP/NP and BMV the pt. all the way to the ED...less work for me, and the docs can have it their way. I have been told by OR and ED docs to just OP/NP and bag...and not to intubate :notsure:

Doc's are cool here. But then again why make an extra step in an already stressful situation when you can get a picture to check placement.

I didn't get to use the glide scope but was able to watch on this fat person who was totally anterior. He was so anterior the MD has to do it twice with the scope and a lot of cric pressure.

Yeah, most of them here are cool. But there are a few are kinda meh...

As a matter of fact, the field tube I got they kept in. It was 3am, respiratory checked it, and the doc left it in...I was proud....and so was my preceptor. We went to steak and shake and he bought me a shake

Yup. Scrapped all our combitubes but we still have LMAs and endotracheal tubes.

I get the gurney or the break room couch. Single would kick ass.

We only have one station all the units deploy out of. We are pretty much in our rig for 12 hours.

    :(

Most people don't like them for the reason that it involves you putting your fingers in the pts mouth. As was stated.
