I found the problem - it was a memory issue.
I had to close all open apps. Apparently apps stay open when you "close" them they are actually just pushed to the back or minimized. I did the 4-finger upward slide to reveal all the open apps and closed them all.
Another way to clear it is to turn the iPad off and restart.
    Problem solved.:)

Why does my Iphone 4 seem like it's lagging? Is it cause I got too much shit on the 16 gig harddrive? I've closed out all other apps but crap like Angry Birds and even just surfing the web will hitch every now and then.

I've got like a gig left on mine. Seems a little excessive though.

How much video are we talking?

Does it have gas in it?

Check to see how many apps you have open. double tap the home button and swipe over then close all apps you aren't using. If that doesn't work try deleting things you aren't using/don't need.

 I thought that was a list of recently used apps (not running apps) and that iOS doesn't really multitask unless it's playing music etc...

My apps are all closed. But I have like 10 gigs of music.

How do you even tell if apps are open? I guess I've never had an issue with it.

double tap the home button and you will see what apps are open or currently running. To close them hold down on one of the icons and tap the red x that will appear.

No I know about this feature, but you can scroll thru it dude. I really don't think those are running apps, they're a list of "recently used" apps...

    Please read.

Multitasking in iOS doesn't really exist. It's not multitasking, as most apps are "paused" instead of allowed to continue in the background. Some apps, like ones that play music can be allowed to continue in the background - but AFAIK there's a very short list of apps that are allowed to do such things. Edit - after reading that article, it even details which types of apps are allowed ;).

Any services out there that will support uploading an app to the app store for a fee (smaller than the 100/yr app store fee). I work for a Fire/EMS service and I made a protocol app using Buzztouch software. Did both android and iOS. Android was easy and relatively cheap 20 bucks. Apple is not so much, just wondering what options we may have.

I think Apple is the only way, lest you don't get your app in the 'App Store'. I'm sure there's "other" ways to get it in, but don't you want revenue from the app?

If yes, you've gotta play their game. I don't know if they ever run discounts or special offers for devs tho... Perhaps someone else will chime in thar.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you were maybe pushing it just a little too hard with THAT much video. editing HD video is one of the ultimate tests on your machine.

Which MBP do you have? Which processor?

Perhaps you (snobord552) need to make sure the device is being cooled properly. Whether or not he has the horsepower to decode/encode that stuff is negligible... it sounds like a classic overheat.

    a) Make sure you blast that thing out annually. I don't own a MBP, but I take apart all my laptops/servers/PS3 annually and suck/blast dust out of 'em

    b) It's a laptop, make sure the exhaust port for the fan can breathe. Obviously on your bed isn't a good place for it :p.

    c) Those chillmats help. I had an issue with an old lappy where it would overheat, and the chillmat would allow me to at least use the damned thing for more than 10 minutes. Didn't resolve the problem completely, but certainly did help.

Hrm, that's really quite bad if so.

I would make sure there's no obstructions, and that the fans are all spinning properly.

Also, you might be right about the charging. If the battery was very dead, and you were really taxing the machine... I guess it's possible it drained it dead even tho it was plugged in. That usually only happens with phones tho, when you're running every radio and charging off USB for example - the USB plug doesn't put out enough amperage to keep up with the drain. Plugging into AC usually doesn't have this problem, which is why I'm surprised a laptop would exhibit this behavior.

I guess I wouldn't put anything past a MBP .

Yup. It was just being pushed too hard (and overheating). I'm not sure but I think there's a built-in "safety mode" where the battery sort of takes a break and doesn't let anyone or anything tell it what to do for a certain amount of time, in a situation like this.

There's this neat little thing called the app store.

    It has what you seek.
