SHORT BED VS. LONG BED

Is the 4x4 double cab short bed more off road capable than the long bed or does 12" on the wheelbase make a poop?

I'm in a dilemma as which double cab to buy, short or long. I plan on lifting it a bit and using it off road.

 

Yes because you can get the SB in a TRD Offroad

 

It is more capable off-road. The 12" does make a difference, especially high centering. I personally wouldn't give up the extra space in my LB but it just depends on what you need more.

 

Went with the shorty, now I need to figure out which lift/tires/wheels to get!

18" UPGRADED WHEELS ON THE TRD PACKAGE....I need some info on which lift, suspension or level..I'm thinking 6" Pro Comp but I don't want to eff up my ride, any ideas???

I wanted a shorty but that extra space on the LB is a must for me too.

 

I got the short bed Off Road, I'd still have to put the tail gate down to put 3 dirt bikes in the back + stuff. Also manual trans is only available in short bed.
