Unknown Switch

I have a 2010 Tacoma and have a switch in extra compartment that covers fuses. I am second owner and have no clue what it does. Looks like factory, right into harness. Anybody????????

 

It calls the Kremlin

 

Wired! Don't know why it's in the change holder door. Lights? Alarm? Aftermarket head unit?

Does it turn off the DTRL's?

 

Turns on a light in the change drawer ?

 

Emergency ejection?

 

my guess is DTRL as well, but it could be anything

 

You'll need to follow the wires or turn it off and on until you figure out what on your truck has changed. That's a previous owner-installed job, no telling what it does just by looking at it.

My guess is for secondary/aftermarket lights. Either off road lights, or bed lights, or something of that sort.

 

No way in hell that's factory. Look at the cutting job they did to put the switch in.

Obvious to me that they ran out of full size switches and decided to just put in a blank and add a small red rocker down in the tray. No way in hell they'd let the assembly line slow down because of a switch shortage.

 

can you ask the person you bought it from? It cant be too long since you purchased if you're just now noticing this and def. not factory lol
