Missing a beacon? Would not be in the back country without it. That's the most important thing to have. Especially this year.

I agree but I feel loveland is pretty chill without one. Anyone going to be at breck tomorrow?

Last words of someone who gets buried lol. I could care less if someone is out with out a beacon as long as its not with me. I want to make sure if I get buried they have equipment to find me. I also keep dog treats in my pocket because I'm betting my lab finds me first haha. I just do back country rescue and do not go out with anyone who is not prepared for the worst.

On a different note I may want to sell the 92 just to get something different. I have no idea what I want for it. Make an offer come look at it if ya want. I'll post it up in the for sale thread.

i even have a personal policy of not picking up people at the passes unless they have a pack and gear...i do not promote backcountry riding without proper gear..you're useless to your group if you cannot find them in a burial...even if it's side country i'll bring my gear...

those slides in WA were not even backcountry, they were a 10m hike from a lift at stevens pass!

Agreed. In my group we even have a little talk about it before we go. Test all of our beacons to be sure they are all in frequency with each other.

there is a backcountry access point off chair 1 at loveland that has a beacon check point at the gate which i think is a great idea for backcountry areas..as you walk by the red X goes to green O (something like that) as you pass by

but either way, a pre trip check like you described is a must for sure

Yeah a lot of areas are starting to do that in CO I think it's a great idea. The pieps that I had before my tracker 2 would test everyone's in the group too. But I broke that beacon and I'm not teaching anymore so I didn't need to spend $200 more on a beacon. It was a nice feature though.

    Thanks Bob!
not sure where I can go tho to use a garage without paying. Im pretty sure ill just have to wait till after my court date (mar. 14) till I can afford to get any help.

Possible. My mom dropped by this morning so I don't know if she is staying or just passing through.

it's really not hard...just gotta convince one of the guys on here with a garage to let you park it there for a few hours while we have some beers and turn some wrenches...not hard, i'll tell you what to do as you bust your knuckles :D
