Strobe lights are awesome, esp the stop motion kind. Like quick burst of light with longer periods of darkness.

Club Haze in LV is my favorite for dance floor effects. One night, I seriously thought someone slipped LSD in my drink, but I wasn't hallucinating. There really was a 6ft tall penguin with a CO2 fire extinguisher blasting the dance floor with his 2 equally tall harpee's in bikinis shooting glow sticks.

Pretty much but without having to pay. :D Honestly the best thing you can do is when you are planning on having a party is to tell your neighbors like the day before or the morning of that you plan to have a few people over and if things start to get to rowdy to call you first rather than the cops, be sure to give them your phone number so that they can do that.

Ha I promise nobody rages as hard as USC.

Really the things that make a party good is good music, a dark dance floor(when people are ready to dance the lights will go out trust me on this), girls, drinking games, and girls. If you can you should have one room setup so that it has a table in it for playing games on, a room to dance in (this is also the room to put the radio in, a good $100 sony from walmart is perfect they get loud and have inputs for ipods and cd's it's best to put a trash bag over the actual player and leave the speakers open put it high on a wall if you can about eye level is great), try to set it up so that the drinks are in between these rooms so people aren't trying to fight through the dance floor/game room to get to them, garbage bins in the corners of the rooms are always a good idea so that there is less cleaning up to do in the mornings.

Just to get this back on topic.
    1. CYA Tell your neighbors ahead of time and leave your number, NOBODY drives away drunk. I am about 99% sure that, like most schools, FSU has a shuttle bus thing for students to hitch a ride for free no questions asked like most other school, there is NO reason for anyone to drive drunk.

    2. Music, it isn't a party without it make sure you have a good area to dance in nice open floor is great. Fratmusic.com is great if you want to leave a lap top by the player to stream music.

    3. Have designated rooms, One room for a dance floor and one for games at least. Drinks right in the middle of each if possible.

    4. If someone gets to wanting to fight kick them out they might get mad that night but probably won't care later, fighting makes the women want to leave this is never a good thing. Same goes if people are fucking up your house.

    5. Neon signs like you would see in a bar are good for decoration just make sure to get the kind that has either the plastic fake neon or a lexan cover. American flags, "Don't Tread On Me", etc are always great for decoration. Be sure to get some and cover the widows if you're going to have under agers make sure the cops don't have a reason to come in if they get called, meet them out side and don't let them in. If cops get called shut it down and kick everyone out after they leave but your best bet is to not have any underage drinking to begin with. Don't let people hang out in the front yard or on the front porch again cops see this they know what's up because, especially around a college town, they've seen it a thousand time before.

    6. It's fun to have theme parties.

    7. Be a mindful host don't let people drink themselves into oblivion, tear up your house, fight, go into your rooms, etc.

As far as decoration goes what you've got listed is fine really no need to spend a lot of money on it.

Make sure you have a puke plan. If some one pukes any where in the house, have the proper supplies to clean it up and get rid of the smell
