    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Decided to use a 4" composite velocity stack from Blox Racing. Also installed the Airaid intake tube and panel filter today. Intake roars now! Butt dyno says this mod WORKS. :)

Clean handy work. Are you able to still plug the hole back up?

Not without something custom, no haha. I'll probably only ever need cover it temporarily when I power wash the motor. But I'm not too worried about it, even in the rain. Got a buddy with the deckplate on his Taco and runs it open in the rain with no problems.

    Here ya go:

    http://www.bloxracing.com/bloxshop/index.php?route=product/category&path=20_46_95

Used a 4" drill saw to punch out the hole, and then used a file to accommodate the full inner funnel body(ever so slightly bigger than 4") so that I could snug the velocity stack up flush to the airbox. It shouldn't move anywhere with the snug fit, but I decided to put a set screw for peace of mind. You might be able to see it in the pics. The rubber grommet was simply made from splitting a small hose in half.

Not to bash, it looks awesome, but I think the essence of the deckplate mod is that you can plug the whole back up. :)

*IF* your plan is to cover the hole up, then the deckplate mod is certainly better. I, however, have no plans to ever plug the hole....so I just improvised :)

To be honest, I'm sure it has minimal gains over the stock tube. When I did my initial deckplate mod research on the forums, consensus was the Airaid intake tube + deckplate had the best gains. I would've loved to dyno prove it but Im hours away from the nearest dyno. :(

It looks better, if anything. Haha!

Night and day difference from stock. It's LOUD lol. Right around 2500-3000 is when it roars. It's like having an exhaust in front. I'm positive it would show up in a video. I'll try to put one up soon.

The Airaid tube certainly amplifies the sound. Sounds wicked. Soon as I pulled out of my driveway and mashed it, I was a little startled haha. Wasn't expecting "BRAAAP!!" lmao
