I would prefer to keep it Yota F/R the problem is finding the front housing. I had a good opportunity in December but with Christmas tomfoolery I couldn't pull the trigger. I've been looking all over Race-Dezert, Craigslist, here, and there and can't find diddly.

I was looking at running 37"-40" tires. So you're saying just go with the rear axle I have now? I was wanting to go with a D60 up front, isn't there quite a bit of width difference?

Id say 40s with a shaved 14 bolt. But thats just me, thats what I plan on doing. I dont trust the stock rear axle for anything, broke mine with 33s.

I've heard about it a ton with the 2nd gens, but not to much with 1st gens.

x2 on RST. I love reading through the different build threads.

yea, if you plan on tires that big get a d60 front, and a shaved 14 bolt rear. for sure, unless you wanna build the hell out of a set of half ton axles. if you awnna do that either a ford 8.8 or 9", both have great aftermarket support, and a HP d44, with 40's though you will have build it and pick your lines carefully

My truck is still gonna be a DD for awhile before I can SAS. Wouldn't it be better for the truck if I install ARBs? I was doing some reading on TTORA and it sounds like non selectable lockers will wear down your tires faster while DDing.

I was originally gonna just lock the rear but I've now been tossing up the idea of locking the front too...

I would think so. It would be a bit of a pain on road having the tires chirp all the time, also prematurely wearing them out. And then when you are in 4x4 offroad, I would like to be able to unlock the front so I can actually steer. If you have the money for ARBs, I would defenintly do it. I wont put lockrites in mine, ill just wait and save up for ARBs.
