all-pro/bilstein coilover replacement

I've had all-pro/bilstein coilovers on my tacoma for 5 years and they have served me well. the coils are extremely rusty and the shocks show oil leakage yet they still seam to preform perfectly. I travel deep into baja a couple times a year. the question is...would you replace the coil-overs, even if your wallet was very thin or wait til complete failure of coil-overs?

yeah... I know it seams like a dumb question. I just wanted some reassurance the coil-overs didn't need to be replaced yet, but I know they do. I guess the wallets gunna take a hit.

 

Take the hit you don't want to be stuck out in baja in bfe...best to be safe than sorry

 

If they are leaking, Replace them now, especially if you go out in BFE where if you have a failure you will end up in a bad situation. IIRC, the AP coilovers are non-rebuildable correct?

If you want something somewhat budget, Sway Away has their 2.0 coilovers for about $750, and they are rebuild-able and will probably perform a lot better than the AP's.

When I get the cash saved up I am going with the Sway away 2.0's

 

You're right, the AP coilovers are not rebuildable. I don't think I'm going to be shelling out a ton of money for a heavy duty rebuildable coilover. I'm thinking about some bilstein 5100's and eibach springs. The AP's had 550 springs which are lighter than most of the other options. I liked the lighter spring rate.
