I gave up trying to keep the sliding glass door clean.

 

It was back at the end of Nov. when I posted the rottie pics. They are just over 5 months old now. Here's a recent pic of me with them and a video (with my daughter) getting them to howl again. The bigger guy is mine, Zeus. He weighs 70 lbs right now. The smaller guy is Thor, my wife's dog. He's at 56 lbs. They are brothers and were the largest and smallest ones in the litter born on 9-11-2011.

here is a new pic of my friends GSD. he’s about 3 months old now. we took him to his fist training class at pet smart today. wear going to take friends FJc but he Turbo would not sit still and is getting to big to sit in floor board now. to we put the grate in the bed of my truck. it was like 77* today. thank god he was in the bed. he threw up a little.

 

During our hike Luna decide to do a drive by attack on Pete's coat and ripped it. Charlie the lab didnt get any good pics, snow was on the wet side so the cam didnt stay out very long.

 

Mine's Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Blue Heeler mix. She has only herded us once or twice, and we realized she was actually trying to help us out. When she found a copperhead snake in the yard she tried to herd us away from it. And strangely, then she stood there and pointed at it, like a pointer hunting dog would do.

And here she is, Sobi, my Valentine's baby from 7 years ago (honestly, best Valentine's gift ever. Boyfriends come and go, but dogs will really always be there for you):

 

Went to the vet yesterday for a check up. Here, he's waiting to have his temp taken...he weighed in at 95 today.

She wasn't fond of him when he first came over but once she warmed up to him they didn't leave each other's site.

At first she was haha. Wasn't bad after you yelled at her lol, then she was Cooper's best friend! That and Mr. Thunder Paws

 

I told you she was a bitch and my lab is everyone's best friend.

No shit I have two and that's crazy haha.

 

So I get a call today about 2 a.m. west coast time (about 1:30 p.m. Saudi Arabia time) from my EX. She is living in my house in Vancouver Washington since we broke up because she dosent pay rent but take care of the place for me and watches my dog while I am traveling and essentially living in Tucson.

Well long story short she was asleep on the couch and my dog DJ (12 year old chocolete lab, he is in perfect health and shape) was upstairs in the master bedroom in his bed asleep. Some guy busted the latch on my rear sliding glass door and came into the house. He couldnt see her asleep on the couch because it faces away from the door. He walked past her up to my T.V. and she woke up for some reason.

She saw him, jumped up, and screamed bloody murder. She was between him and the rear door so he grabbed her and hit her hard in the face to nock her out of the way. As soon as she screamed my lab came down stairs barking and snarling on a rampage. As the guy nocked her down my lab layed into the guys leg and tore him open. He got one good kick in on my lab and busted 2 ribs before he got out and away.

Cops showed up and my lab wanted nothing to do with them. She had to lock him in a back room until he calmed down because he wanted someone else's ass something fierce protecting her and the house. They brought K-9 out and tracked the guy down. Apparently there have been a couple home invasions in the area lately and think it was all him. They found him a half block away with some serious damage to his calf and had to take him to the hospital. Kelly my ex went to the hospital and other than a little bruising and bloody nose she is fine. My dog is sore as hell as well with a few broken ribs but he is definately the hero of the week!!!


Probably both luckily and unluckily I was not home as I have a pistol in my bedside drawer and also in the coffee table next to where I sit down stairs and I would have definately used one of them. Also the dog wouldnt have gone upstairs if I was home. He never leaves my side so he would have been downstairs and probably heard the guy come in initially.

So lets hear it for my boy, DJ. The hero of the week!!! I love this dog more than anything else. He has been with me since I bought him while living in Japan in 2000. He has been there with me as I came back from war 3 times. He is always excited and loves to see me no matter if I am gone 5 minutes or 5 months. He is my best friend!!!

 

Ya DJ! Hope the ER docs worked hard to clean that wound out...not.
