In the Navy we usually call the first marriage the practice one. Almost everyone I know has been married and devoiced (myself included). Military life is hard on a young couple’s marriage. Usually, this is because young couples will get married so they can stay together when moving to different parts of the country, or they do it for living off base and the little bit of extra money.

Not really about your faithful-ness, it's theirs. My best friend was cheated on by his girlfriend on 2 deployments. Taking it from him, it's rough being in the military and in a relationship.

I'm kind of in the same boat, I ship in May, but will not leave in a relationship based on what I've learned, especially early relationships.

Edit: just saw you update. Good luck and glad she wants to make it work

My relationship with my wife while in the Army was amazing. She was an active member in the family readiness group. I think she was more proud to be an army wife than I was being a soldier. She could not have been more supportive than I could have ever imagined. She loved being an Army wife....even through all the training and deployments she was faithful and understanding. It was very hard on her but she took it in stride and did everything right & it made me appreciate her more than anything in the world and made me love her even more. I got the best one and I'm proud to have her!

sorry i didnt feel like reading all the posts, but i met my ex when he was already enlisted, hung out with him for two weeks while he was on leave, saw him a few months later for a couple days, then he was deployed for a year and i didnt see him, but stayed faithful to him, i cant say the same for him though.
