^So I tried earlier today, and I was able to release the cog set using a spare piece of chain with a cog tool. With your broken spoke on the non-drive side, you won't need to do this now, but in case you have to later on, here are a few picts...
I typically install my quick-release loosely to keep the cog tool in place.

^^Nice. I guess my post was confusing, but the broken spoke was on the drive side. I ended up just getting a chain whip from the bike shop. The lock ring was on there so tight I don't think I could've done it without that extra leverage. Is it supposed to be that tight?

hey does any one know if they have bar risers? or what ever to rase the bars up a little? i think i would like my bars up a little higher.

P.S idk anything about mountain biking and what they have out as far as parts. i know they make bar risers for dirt bikes and ATV’s lol.

Well there's handle bars of varying rise (mine are flat), but probably the best and easiest way to raise them is with a new stem. If there's steerer tube spacers on top of your stem, you can put them under to raise it a hair.

My understanding is that higher bars = more upright riding position = more comfortable and less upright = more of a race position. I could be wrong though.

those are spacers, you can't add any more spacers

To get any more rise out of the bars you need new riser bars

Some amazing bikes in here. I have only ever had a hard tail but this year I think I am going to spoil myself and get a full suspension mountain bike this year.

I am looking at the Santa Cruz Blur trc. Went for a trial run on one and it was a great ride. However I tried the Cannondale Jekyl 3 as well and was nice too. A little beefier than the Santa Cruz so leaning towards the Santa Cruz because I really dont take a lot of huge jumps. Both were nice.

Just waiting to see what the taxes are like and then decide on one of them.

If anyone has experience with either one of these bikes or something similar I would love to hear you review. Thank you.

I have a couple of Santa Cruz bikes and have been really happy with both. One happens to be a Blur LT which is a bit different than the TRc. Overall, I'm happy with my LT.

Wow great bikes to choose from and both would be great do-it-all rigs. If you're a big guy or interested in true all mountain or lift assisted runs or just gnarly terrain it looks like the Jek may be the best choice. For all around trail rig then SC.

Yeah I have heard great things about the Santa Cruz bikes and I have to admit this one was a very nice ride when I went for a test ride. It is the one I ma looking at but it is more expensive than the Cannondale

Yeah it is beefier but I really dont do the big rough terrain as much anymore. More of just trail riding but it did ride very nice as well and it looked slick too. It was cheaper than the Santa Cruz so we will see how much I get back and decide then.

Thanks for your input guys and hopefully I will let you know what I get in a couple of months. Cheers.

    Im getting there......
^^^^I have had a blur TC and have ridden the cannonade a few times, I like the blur but if your looking for a really unique bike I would go with the Yeti SB-66 Carbon I rode one at a demo and it is amazing, I have a standard SB-66 and its the best bike I have ever had for all around riding. The Carbon will probably be even better. That said you can't go wrong with a blur TC, but you would get better value on a trek or maybe a specialized, although I am sure you know that.

I would go Yeti.....and no I'm not biased :spy:

Just took apart my Rocky Mountain Altitude 29 that i build two seasons ago for a clean + Lube for start of next season. Even took the frame appart to get every nook and cranny.
Ordered some new bearings for my front Hope hub because apparently, one is ceased.
Will post pics of the shenanigans later.

    :)

hey guys i know a few of you have a trek wahoo or maybe any other trek with a CLIX quick release in the front. I was having trouble with stiffness in the front and took it to the shop and found out it was the Clix QR so they hooked me up with a standard QR for free because trek was doing warranty work for it

just though some of you might want to know in case you were having the same problem
