I have a couple questions.. how similar are the FJ and Taco as far as working on them.. oil changes, tranny, etc. Am I gonna have to re learn everything? Lol and; does anybody have an gripes about the FJ? Thanks guys. Hopefully soon she will be a new TW member and we will be posting more here in the FJ section. :)

The 2010+ plus has dual vvti, when I built my buddies Dsm said it needed different coilovers but I couldn't see a difference

Cool thanks guys. I know they have the dual vvti.. rated at 260. A tad more than my Taco. But glad to know they are close,.minus the oil apparently. That sub sounds sooo much better than my factory jbl sub (that I replaced) lol

2010+ has a change in the sway bar, C/O's with remote reservoirs have different relocation brackets. other than that, the suspension is the same.

Thanks... It's an 07. I am just curious bc I wanna reroute my exhaust and thought about getting a new muffler while I'm at it but I don't like to sound of most. BUT, if it sounded like hers with the low almost growl I would do it. I don't know what vvti is.

edit... vvti = variable valving timing injection?

Oh ok, its not the new motor then. The newer fj's have the new DUAL vvti motor compared to our trucks' vvti. I'm sure the routing of the exhaust and maybe headers are different, giving it that lower tone. I'm sure these FJ guys will chime in. I'm sill learning about them myself. lol

the difference is really in how short our exhaust is and the bend in the piping that causes the noise to be different. look where it comes off the back of the muffler it bends 90 to make it over the axle.

Yeah, I just figured it had larger diameter pipes and different muffler. I haven't crawled under there to look yet though.

Ahh, ok. I figured it wad something like that due to the shorter wheel base and suspension configuration. I can't wait till the gf gets hers. Lol. Next two to three weeks hopefully. Best of both worlds. :)
