Thats the benifit of working in the shop, trucks up on a lift, took the wheels off, balanced them, cleaned them, plasti dipped them and the center caps, now just letting everything dry the rest of the day.

Also resurfaced my r/r brake drum due to warpage, annoying squeak coming to a stop sign pissed me off.

 

true...figured you were at home if you were screwing around w/ your truck

How low does it take for plasti-dip to dry?

 

put it this way, i started painting around 10ish, did all wheels 2 coats, center caps 2 coats, and lug nuts (regular flat black paint) 2 coats. The wheels are already bolted back on the truck and the truck is sitting on the ground again! So, for me, the whole project takes about 4 hours. But i also have really good resources at my disposal.

 

Can anyone tell me about Brevard County? What it's like? May be heading over there for a few weeks...

 

where in brevard are you going? i live in brevard (melbourne speciffically). it's a large county, and it's atmosphere changes greatly depending on the town.

Well, plasti dipped the new wheels and installed my NFABS today! Also removed factory emblems off the tailgate and doors.

 

looks GEWD!!

The N-fabs look great. Much better than the nerf bars.

 

Oh yeah, much much better, only issue is they are gloss black instead of flat black, but honestly i really dont mind, they still look great. Just makes me rethink the plasti dip now cause the shine of the silver wheels might compliment the nfabs, but i think i will leave it as is for now.

 

jason, looks great. i like all black on swb trucks. especially with your tinted tails. you could either gloss paint the wheels, or matte paint the steps. could even wpray bedline the steps. that'd give them a nice flat finish.

you should post of in the swb thread and see how long it takes for someone to say somehting about doing the bhlm lol

Cocoa Beach, I believe. How's that area?

 

Very sandy and it smells like the ocean, not bad if you like that kinda thing.

 

cocoa can be an odd area. for the most part it seems to be either very touristy, or kinda shady. they do have a nice big beach though. much wider and tame (shallower and smaller waves) than some of the beaches down a little further.

it's separated from the southern towns in brevard by a narrow strip of beach with Partic Airforce Base on it.

if you're looking for a good beach bar/resturaunt, look up "coconuts on the beach". and if you're into it, the oroginal Ron John surf shop is there.

Alright, doesn't sound bad. Seems safe enough. Any good place for the over 30 crowd? That AFB gonna be keeping me up? Will definitely check out Ron John, but I can't surf. At least not while sober. Ya'll do some offroading around there?

 

cocoa is a nice beach area.

 

The base is far enough south that it shouldn't be any kind of issue. other than what's right around the beach itsself, the rest of cocoa is jsut liek any other town. I'd grab a tourist map or talk to someone at the front desk of your hotel.

if you have enough free time, check out the brevard zoo. it's only about 20 minutes away from cocoa. they have this really cool thing called "tree top trek". it's an elevated ropes course that winds through parts of the zoo and has a ton of zip lines. i had a great time doing it and highly recomend it. make sure to do the advanced course though.
