I have a brand new Yakima Bike Rack for the 2005-2012 Tacoma. I just bought this the other day and installed it but then realized my forks won't fit in it. I paid $115 for it but will sell it for $75 plus shipping or local pick up. It looks good and is locking. I wish my bike fit! Let me know if you have any questions.

I haven't tried. I just figured I couldn't because I've taken it out of the packaging and installed it already. Its an easy install but I don't think they will take it back out of the packaging. I bought it at a Toyota dealer

Thanks, I would feel like a jack taking it back. I bought that and a bed extender not realizing my dirtbike wouldn't fit in the back with the bed extender in. I took that back but I should have done some homework first. I don't wanna feel like I'm jerking the dealership around. Figure I'll just take a loss and call it a lesson learned.

you're too nice, i wouldn't feel bad at all, the dealer has handed it to us too many times in the past and is gonna continue to do so in the future, oh, why doesn't your bike fit, are your forks wider or narrower? i thought they were usually universal, unless I guess your bike is very specialized or unique, glws though!

Can I get a part number? I have a 2004 Tacoma standard cab and looking for a bike rack, just want to make sure that it will work with my vehicle.

    Thanks

If its still in like new shape and doesn't show damage. You should be able to return it with confidence. You can explain that it doesn't fit your bike as intended.

Give it a shot with confidence and you should be fine. However if you beat it up and the packaging looks like its been through a tumble, then yeah...maybe not.

I try to take all items out of the box properly and handle the item with care. Just in case it doesn't work and I'll need to return it. That way the store can accept the return and the item is sellable to the next customer.
