Retrofit nonsense

So all this retrofit/projector stuff doesnt make sense to me, I want to do it so i can completely black out my headlights and do white shrouds, But whats the difference between the H1 and the FXR stage 3 and all that stuff? And how do i know what kind of adapter plate or what ballasts i want?! Does anyone have some pictures and full details on what they have installed. i want to see some of the different shrouds... Can someone please help me make sense of all this Retrofit stuff.

 

Sorry i searched for the writeups but couldnt find anything, Could anyone lend a hand and send me a link, I didnt mean to waste anyones time or anything. Just trying to figure out all i can before i decide if i want to get into the group buy going on.

 

So im looking at the h1 kit, What bulbs are best? Do i want an adapter plate and wiring harness? If so... Which ones?!
