I got the new 4 wheel and off road magazine and it shows the new tacoma coming out with the option of the 4.7L V8. Has anyone heard what year this is coming out. I want one. Ive been wondering if they were gonna come out with a new tacoma with the V8 and now they are. What does everybody think about it???

If they make a V8 Tacoma it won't be the 4.7 it will be the new 4.6 that will be in the 2010 Tundra and then the Sequoia and next gen 4runner.

I read about that too. It's called the "Incross" concept. Has a 4.7L that puts out 271 hp and over 310 ft lbs. torque. But, the one I'm talking about was debuted in '07 at the SEMA show I believe.

Yea. I was just saying that that was the only V8 Taco I've heard anything about.

Why not? We all know Toyota makes reliable engines, and it's pretty much the same V8 run in all their other vehicles. There is nothing to be scared of.

No replacement for Displacement. Booya says I. Never the less until I or this truck dies (Really with Toyota it's honestly a frigging coin toss) I won't be replacing it for a V8. However, if I have a spare 5 Grand kicking around I'll throw a Supercharger in there so fast your head will spin.

I think rather than get a V8 Tacoma I'd do a Stage 2 URD MKII supercharger kit and bump to about 380HP in my Taco. Its already got all kinds of stuff on it and almost the way I want to keep it so I cant see myself taking a hit on selling or trading it in for a touch more power and a loss of MPGs, though it would sound badass!.

    Why get a V8?
A supercharger gives you more HP and torque and much better MPGs than the V8(the 4.6L that is).
I'd be very surprised if the Tacoma comes out with a V8 option..
