When we went it was i think 7" at the top of powder.

Disco is right on Georgetown lake. Just outside of Anaconda.

Its a much smaller ski area than Big Mt, obviously, but thats part of the reason I like it. Dont have to worry as much about running into someone. You can sit down in the middle of the hill even and rest and enjoy it without getting yelled at or causing people issues lol.

Is whitefish still going to be open on the weekend of March 17-18th? I'm going up there and want to ski for the first time. I hear it's a nice place up there, I hope they have some beginner stuff.

Should be open still for sure (100"+ base right now I think), and there is plenty of beginner as well as expert stuff on Big Mountain. Haven't been there for quite a few years, but it was one of my favorite places when I was on the Discovery Ski Team.

Awesome! Thanks. I'm hopefully going to rent some equipment from school here and then save on the cost.

    6', ~150lbs, and size 11 shoe.

One more question for everyone, how far could I get into Glacier around that weekend as well? I understand most of the roads will be closed. I just have my girlfriend coming in so I wanted to show her as much as possible!

Damn, you're too light for my equipment... I would let you borrow it, though Butte is out of the way for you.

And as far as the roads go: http://home.nps.gov/applications/glac/roadstatus/roadstatus.cfm

It would appear that the roads are mostly closed. You can go into the park for sure, but you won't make it through the park.
