I use gas perks with Shop N Save. But I'm not comfortable running that low, not worth the couple bucks in savings.

    This is true.

I guess after only owning V8's (my last one being a Pontiac G8 GT) I have lost all confidence driving with the gas light on. With my Taco I never put 17 gallons in the tank, but my gas light is on.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I still have 6 gallons in my tank when my light comes on. The motor sits higher than the pump and has to maintain at least +50 psi for most fuel injection systems. No I don't think the fuel running through it has more of a cooling effect than the fuel surrounding it. Years of hydraulics maintenance tell me this.

oh thats nice! mom and dad have a visa with BP. i usually pay cash for gas. but i have a card as well for if i really need something and don’t have anuff cash. i have had to use it for gas. or if mom calls and has me go to the store for something. but since my mom always pays that one card off no madder how much it is. like 2k or even 5k it gets paid off every month. we get cash back or what ever on it. usually what ever cash back we get we get in free gas cards each card is $20 we have got over 10 of the before. can only use them at BP tho.

Ahhh....to be young again (I hope). Cash back credit cards are the way to go. Citicards has a decent one that pays 1% on everything and 5% on some things (changes every month). I NEVER use cash - don't even carry it. We put ALL of our utilities on our credit card and anything else we can find. When I bought my Taco, they let me put $2,000 on my credit card and the rest was financed. We ALWAYS pay it off in full at month end.
Don't spend the money unless you don't have the money.

Airline miles and 'points' cards are no good. Too many restrictions. Cash back cards send you a check that you take straight to the bank and cash it in. We have 2 cash back cards because they limit out at $350/yr. We nearly limit them both out each year.

The owners manual for the 2012 says the fuel capacity is 21.1 gallons, don't know if its the same as older models or not.

Just for future reference, coasting in neutral in these trucks burns gas. Coasting in gear doesn't.

    LOL!

    It's not like I'd notice the $6 difference on a 42 gallon fill-up :D

    I paid $4.31 today.

Glad I don't have the '95 Suburban anymore.

Yes, it was nice to be able to drive from LA to Lordsburg NM in one tank, but it's no fun having to swipe the card 3 times in one fuel stop

Ya, but aren't your gallons still bigger than ours, or did they "deflate" them?
