It's an old post I know but one of my favorite youtube video types shows jacks going after those huge poppers people throw.

Related somewhat to my post above:

My favorite lure to throw is a Spook. I cannot get enough of topwater strikes. The best place I've found for the spook is the Ocoee River below Parksville dam. Spotted bass there are voracious and you can get 3 or 4 strikes on a single cast. Great stuff.

    Odds and Ends

I hear ya there, topwater is hands down my favorite. I used to fish grass frogs on the Tensaw river in Alabama years ago. I'd drag them across the lilly pads and let the legs dangle off the edge of the pads andf wait for the explosion. That was some of the best Bass fishing I can ever remember. Aligators, Cypress trees and Spanish Moss. It was incerdible.

I love top water too! Like JaSkynyrd said, fishing for stripe below the dam with a top water is INCREDIBLE! But I have to say going up to Guntersville and using a samm-e in the late evening to catch huge bass, like 5lb avg, is pretty fun :D

My Bro in law got me a fly tying kit for Christmas and I haven't tried it out yet but I got some hooks last night along to start making flies with. I will probably mostly make grasshoppers like this but I'd also like to make some poppers, anybody have any tips for me?

I think a citation is a good thing, we have something like that in Tennessee called the Tennessee Angler Recognition Program, or TARP. You get a certificate for catching a big fish. I think a TARP crappie is 15 inches.

Oh I get it, I was super tired this afternoon... not that I am really awake right now. But I thought he meant that it would be a violation style citation..... got one of those for a striper/hybrid.... less then .25 inches short of the regulation size... even after DEC officer explained to me that he knows the fish could have shrunk due to stress.....real nice:mad:
