Paul, in all truthfulness. Have you considered finding a cherry 1st gen? And with the large chunk of money left over, Supercharger, offroad bumpers, Sliders, Wench, Best lift you can buy, Lockers front and rear, High end sound system and basically any other mod you can dream up while still having money left over?

no pun intended. Drove my dads dclb all weekend. They have the worst turn radius of any vehicle i've ever owned and I've had full size trucks before.

no definite plans yet. the thing has to get me back and forth from work primarily with the occasional weekend fun. I know plenty about the advantages of an 8.4 vs the 8. Lets be honest, the 8.4 isn't that great of an axle for offroading either. If you plan on wheeling "hard", you would really have to consider swapping a better axle under there anyways, and by then your limitation would be the front "axle".

A good condition 1st gen with lower miles is only like a grand or two less then a comparable 2nd gen with the same miles. Plus I like the size and stock power of the 2nd gen.

 

I think you're going to have a hard time finding one with such little mileage. For a reasonable price anyway.

the low mileage criteria is the biggest driving factor right now. I drive at least 20k miles a year.

The thing about the Limo is that the SB's look so stubby. I agree the turning radius is bad, but my extended cab Dakota was the same, so I have been driving a limo for the last 15 years. The biggest key is that it is easier to park backing into a spot than pulling in with the front.

I totally agree. double cab trucks have always looked stubby to me. But my motto is i'm not going to be hauling stuff in my bed all the time so I'd prefer the turn radius. If I have to haul bigger stuff, I can either drop the tail gate and get creative with tie downs or if absolutely necessary, a small trailer can be had for pretty cheap. DCLB's look awesome with a 6inch lift though.

 

So you saying that mine won't look good with a 3" lift?

 

yep, and brians even worse with a 2 something lift.

at least its not stubby haha.
