Sirius XM install 2008 with JBL, no Sat

Before anyone tells me to search, I did. I cannot find a complete source that finitely explains ho to do this.

I want to add Sirius or XM radio to my factory head unit. The unit I have is a 2008 JBL dics changer with NO SAT. It has a "traffic" button instead. Is there a way to add on Sat radio?

I believe what I need is the SCC1 (Sirius receiver) and the TOY-SC1 but cannot confirm. I've read both that this is only for radios with the XM SAT included, and that it works without SAT....

Which, I believe should work too. Really not sure, but hope someone can help out with the experience.

 

I found it cheapest and easiest to just buy a used sat ready head unit here and install an antenna. I just did this for a total of $100 and now I have a OEM XM radio.

 

Thanks, I thought of that too, but couldnt find any on eBay or on other tacoma forum websites - this one included.
