That rig was in the sema truck show

 

Is it hard to shift/grinds in between 2nd & 3rd or is it 5th gear ?

 

Reminds me of that "overland" rig that was at Superstition last year.

 

Only rough to shift when cold into first and reverse but I have a terrible whine from the bearing inside.

The input shaft bearing makes a terrible whine noise at all time unless the clutch is pressed in, It follows with the rpms as in it whines louder as the rpms get higher.

My synchros are fine for now but if I need to do a full tear down for a bearing I might as well do the rebuild.

 

hit some snow in pine valley today, there was plenty up there and it was all virgin!

 

Is that why you were idling so high?

 

No.. I still have no idea why its idling so high.. still goes to 1500 when cold and it has NEVER done this before the trip.

My transmission bearing noise is an old issue, its been there since I bought the truck and I thought it was the stock clutch so I had Jason replace all that with a stage 2 comp clutch and 38 lbs flywheel.

when I got home from Ocotillo I replaced the entire intake with a spare AEM I have, Cleaned the MAF and did all areas of the Throttle Body and checked all fuel and vacuum lines.. nothing seems wrong.

I am stumped on the high RPM.. it idles at 1k now instead of the old 750...

I get the same mileage and performance so its not really an issue.

 

It isn't synchros, its your input shaft bearing & yep seeing how its on the main shaft you practically have all torn down anyway... I'll still trade you tranny probs. tho' I'd jump into a manual trans now before even thinking about opening mine up.. just too high end for my hillbilly thought process.....

 

try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and let the computer reset itself and see what happens.

 

I left if disconnected for 2 hours, Same thing.

Also I somehow no longer have a dome light power.. so much carnage that weekend.

 

these are on now and ready for more abuse on the wheel wells.. LOL

 

isn't there a high idle sensor, try pulling the pos. cable off battery while its running & keep pos. cable off til you turn off key, tighten pos. cable down, start as normal, hopefully it'll throw a code (it wont short anything, you're still grounded...

personally i haven't done this but i've heard from a couple guys that have done it to throw codes for diagnostic shit..
