He definitely makes them tougher and gives them a guy who appears eager to drop the gloves. Though trading a guy whos name was being mentioned as a potential calder winnner for a guy who couldn't crack the line-up on a non-playoff bound team seems odd. I cannot help but wonder if the Canucks don't see the potential for Kassian to be something special in the future as well. He too was a first round draft pick after all

 

The Sportsnet Trade Tracker show summed it up pretty good , they said the Canucks have a whole team of Hodgson type players and only a couple Kassian types .

Gillis seems to agree , I just wish it was Raymond going that way instead of Hodgson

 

I wouldnt get rid of young talent like Hodgson for someone who already has a suspension history like Kassian. Plus, one guy doesn't make your whole team tougher. Look at BOS, NYR, and PHI, they all have multiple guys who hit big and can fight if they need to.
