So I ordered some wheels and tires from 4wheelparts.com. I'm about to go pick em up. The guy says on the phone

him - "do you plan on running spacers?"

    me- "no, why?"

him - "steel wheels will not fit on tacomas, because the rub on the caliper. You're going to need atleast a 1/4" spacer."

here's the setup I'm going to run:

    stock suspension

    Rockcrawler series 97
    15x8
    3.75 in backspace

    wrapped in:

    BFG Mud Terrain KM2
31x10.50R15 (more or less equivalent to 265/75R15)

    is he right?

i dont "think" they will but dont take my word on that
but i would get the spacer just in case and if u dont need it id still but it on for a litle more wider wheel stance
but any way a free bump 4 ya

What size wheels are you replacing? What truck do you have?

The only way you're gonna know for sure - is to install them.

Take notice to have they clear the brake calipers & such.

Then - post back and let us know if the guy was full of shit (or not).

I know for an 05+ 16X8 with 4.5" backspacing requires spacers...Ive been looking at those exact wheels. I do know that wheelersoffroad.com had 15" steelies that will fit the taco.

15" wheels will NOT fit any 05+ tacomas...SOME 15" wheels will fit 95.5-04 tacomas with the right backspacing

Just was wondering what size steelies with fit my 09 4x4 regular cab thanks FUN4YOU. I herd alot of people say to go to 17s. I guess my question is would it be cheeper to keep the 16s or go with a 17 inch wheel I would like to run the 265/75/16 or 17 M/Ts.[IMG]

just buy some used trd off road wheels which are 16's and put 265/70/16 and you will be ok. if you go 17's you will have to run a lower tire and you might have slight rub without a lift, or you can paint your stock wheels and just put new rubber on. I just got my wheels and tires at 4wheelpart, pro comp 7069 or something like that with bfg at for 1400 otd.

You have 16" steel wheels now, are you looking for a different steel wheel like the rockcrawlers? You can not get 15's, some 16's fit and 17's do fit.

You can fit 17's without a lift, TRD sports come stock with 265/65/17.
