    BTW there is a new round of rebates on Canon products for the month of March. I know you were eyeing a new lenses so maybe it will help you out. What type of lens were you hoping for anyways?

    i'm really looking for a 70-200 F2.8 or f4 IS with a teleconverter (1.4x or 2x) or the 100-400. I'm having a hard time justifying $1200+ just for a fricken lens for me to play with.

    No it's 7 years old but only 50,xxx miles the spider gear for 2nd gear is bad and the bearings are fried because Porsche thought a sealed bearing made in Brazil rather than the open bearing made in house for the 911's would be a good idea.

    Jeez does that thing clean itself or what? It must take good pics.

    I know. There's a shop here that deals with a lot of trade ins. I put my name on the will call list for a couple of lens when I stopped by last weekend....even though I don't even own the camera yet :eek: I figure if a good deal comes up I don't want to miss out.

    I have a 55-200 for my camera now and it does OK but certainly doesn't have the reach that I need for wildlife shots. I'm hoping a 300 will satisfy me

    I played with my dad's 75-300 and the 300 seemed a little short, but i'm sure it is just something i need to play with. I really like the idea of the 70-200 f2.8 with the 2.x teleconverter. The problem is that route will cost me like $2k.
