max tire size

Just got my tax return and looking to get a 3 inch suspension lift and some bigger tires. I was just wondering what the max tire size is I could go with a 3 inch lift without rubbing.

and OZ didn't your post just say 275/70/17?

 

Yes , but I didn't realize he was a first gen , not sure about rubbing issues with them

 

Wrong place hmm? 32X11.50X15 or 265/75/16 but 33 or 285 will fit, all you need to do is bang a little...but that's fun

You can. 33x10.50s work well, that's what I have. Might have a little rubbing to deal with. 33x12.50's will work too but will rub more and require trimming/flattening of the pinch weld and possibly a bit of trimming of the fender flares.

I just looked at 285/75/16's. They come out to be 32.8" in diameter. Anyone think this would be a good choice? I want to avoid any rubbing if possible and I also want to be able to articulate a decent amount when I am off road.
