I love being by myself or with someone who want to focus on the workout and not talk, because I live in a small town everybody want's to talk to everybody else. I wish I could wake up earlier and go in the morning but I'd be up at 5am to be able to finish and get to school on time.

Proud to have Tony DiTirro as my coach. Not only did he make into "REPS" magazine, but he's on the road 6 weeks at a time out of country training with no electricity, no a/c etc and still makes time to lift and eat a proper diet. He's an example of no excuses.

Mother of god. If you haven't done 3 drop sets per set on leg day never under estimate the guy who yells "BEAST MODE!" out loud.

I just took my vibram fivefingers for its maiden voyage at the gym. Man are my calfs and hamstrings sore. I could normally run a 7 min/mile in running shoes but this had me struggling at a 12 min/mile pace.

I also took a kick boxing class with them and they were awesome. They allowed me to grip with my toes when I pivoted on the ball of my feet so I could kick harder and faster with them. Great foot gloves. haha.

I do feel iffy wearing them around the weight room. Zero protection, but running shoes wouldn't be all that better when you drop a 50 lb dumbell on your foot.

This. When I ran for the first time in my five fingers, my calves cramped up like never before.

And I actually DID drop a 45 lb plate on my foot wearing my five fingers. I was in a cast for weeks.

Still love 'em though. Can't beat how 'planted' you feel in them, especially when doing exercises like deadlifts, leg press, and push press

just be careful and ease into running w/ five finger shoes or any other "minimalist" shoe

you've been wearing shoes with support and cushion your entire life, you need to let your foot bones and muscles gain strength and adjust to running with no support, otherwise you will cause and injury.

running on a track for short distances like 1-2 miles for a few weeks is the best way to ease into it. no treadmill

    I haven't worn vibrams yet.

I used to work out barefoot, the last couple years I have worn the Nike free 3.0 and 5.0s and just recently switched to Saucony Hattoris. I love them.

So my calfs are still super sore from tuesday. Do you think it will be okay to excersize on them without them seazing up?

I want to take a kick boxing class but i'm afraid i'm gonna be crippled on the ground from a massive charlee horse

    Just stretch and warm up.

    Kickboxing shouldn't be too bad.

I just wouldn't do a calve workout until they are better.

Cool deal. I'm gonna hit the weights in an hr or so then go to kick boxing at 8pm tonight. I'll see how my calves hold up.
