Most people are unaware of the carrier bearing I've found. If you've never looked, you'd think it went straight to the transfer case.

Way back in '86 I bought a brand new Camaro-2.8 v6 FI. One day at work as me and 2 coworkers came back from lunch in my car, I was in 2nd gear and was making a left turn onto a side street. My throttle stuck and before I could react I slid into 5 parked cars.
The 2nd day my car was in the body shop, Chevrolet showed up to "inspect" my car according to the body shop owner. They never told me they were going to do this. He said they were in my engine bay for about an hour. To this day I still wonder if they didn't change out something on the throttlebody. Just saying-

The driveshaft would have had to become lodged into something in the pavement for it to "pole vault" you. Or else it would have just dragged the ground. Second, toyotas driveshafts are pretty stout, but I don't see them being able to launch the weight of the truck as its moving down the highway.

You would have to be going at least 70-80, at least. And I would think even then it would flip the rear over. But "pole vault"?? As in the front of the truck launching itself as a silhouette over the moon in ET?
