    Hey guys,
Just got my new 2012 MGM DCSB TRD last week and want to put nerf steps on it. Looks like the majority use N-Fab. Question is, what size main tube is the best, 3" or 2"?? Does the 3" look to big, and does the 2" look to small and gay?? There arent any shops around Tulsa that have any to look at in person. Want the textured black if possible, but am willing to have Line-X put on them. Thanks in advance.

I just put a set of the 2" (i think) nfabs on mine yesterday and love them. To me they look great.

Ehh, it's all opinion based, i think the 2" look great and dont mind the little gap, but i can see you point of view as well, thats why it's good that the OP is looking for pictures and what not.

I can agree with that. I personally like how the 3" fill the gap better and provide better protection against rock chips and other things flying off the tires...but to each their own.

OP shop around because I found a Smity Built set for much cheaper then the N-fabs. They arrived in the Smity box and I opened it up to find N-fab steps. I did some research and found that N-fab makes the steps for Smity Built, so you get the exact same steps (they even say N-fab on the step part) cheaper.

lol. I found a bunch of old gif files I had on an old computer. It was either that or a pelvic thrusting storm trooper.:D Not to mention this kinda goes hand in hand with my quote from jandrews since that was probably a college student setting his face on fire.

I wouldn't have minded having the 3" to fill that gap, i was kinda hoping the 2" would. But I still like them overall.

The only things I disliked about my Nfabs is they made the truck look lower than it is , and they do nothing to protect against door dings

I thought this same thing, but all steps tend to do this.

I am building steps like the NFAB using 2" tubing I am almost done...I didnt like the big gap either so I made brackets that hold the tube closer to the body.

How about an alternative to the N-Fab style? RBP is doing them up a little extra with the RX-3 step. They are a bit on the spendy side @ $795. The available pic on a Tacoma kind of sucks, so there is a big pic on a F150 below.
