What's the biggest the 2nd gens can go without adding a lift?

I've seen first gens get some pretty beefy tires (like 33 inch tires or so) and they look mean as fuck without a lift. Just wondering how big and size tires can the 2nd gens go? Do they still look good without a lift?

Are there any pics with just the tires and without the lift? I'm young and curious. :D

I was rubbing like a bitch with 265/75/16s.

With the OME 2.5in lift I am perfectly fine, but now the tires look slightly undersized...

You can fit 37's with some motivation, a sawzall and a sledge hammer. Might be able to fit 40's if you cut and replated the firewall and ran Fiberglass fenders, but I can stuff 37's lock to lock no problem, with no added lift height. In fact it would sit lower than a stock one if it was on stock tires. 4ac71cbb_6e287b2ac525792836df70a60bdd484f7558673e.jpg

This is what Im worried about. Im running bills at 2.5 in front with stock in the back. Im running stock tires but look severly undersized. Im worried 265 will be too small, but Im worried if I go any bigger Ill be rubbing and need new uca's

I just put on 265/75/16's and I have some rubbing when making a sharp turn and bouncing up a driveway. Other than that they are normal with no rubbing in regular every day driving.

Hey OZ. My lift goes on next week and those are the tires I purchased. Thought I would play it safe.

I was looking at 255/80/17 but backed down to that size. The 80's also only came in the mud version.

I will post pictures next week.

When I go through the 245s that came on my SR5, I'm going to go with 265/70R16. Don't want to worry about rubbing. I know the diameter is only fractions of an inch bigger but the width is more important to me.

Unless I do 1" lift blocks to clear the 265/75-16s.
